The KIVA – The Heart of All Peoples 2018-07-15T00:08:57+00:00

What is the KIVA?

The Kiva is a circular sacred space with the ancestral fire at the center that in ceremony remains lit for four days and nights, connecting the guardians of the cardinal points and the forces of the Universe. Through prayer in their own native dialects, the elders of the wisdom of different traditions and ethnicities, with their colors, clothes, languages, medicines and offerings, deposit their prayer activating each point of the planet from which they come from, thus fulfilling the purpose of the Kiva and becoming the fire that unites the world.

In ancient times there were different forms of Kiva according to their time and tradition, demonstrated by their remains found in places currently classified as reservations, in the territory known as Oasis America, which today makes up part of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. There are Kivas more than 1,000 years old that, with the passage of time, stopped being used.

The KIVA is the Temple of the Heart of Mother Earth

The VISION

Raymundo Tigre Perez (1946 – 1995)

Raymundo Tigre Perez, was a Medicine Man and Holy Men of the “Red Road”, raised in Texas, he was involved in the spiritual way of life of the Dinee Nations (Navajo) in the different reservations of the natives from North America and the great Nation Lakota Sioux.

It was during a Dance of the Sun ceremony in 1968 that Raymundo Tigre Perez had a vision, Mother Earth was sad and crying because her children had separated themselves from her and forgotten their traditions and trades given by her to each village. He saw how the Earth opened up and formed a circle with a fire inside, from one direction walked in beings that came from different places, colors and races; praying in their original languages, they deposited their offerings in the fire for Mother Earth. This act made her stop crying and she began to sing songs of joy as she saw her children reunited again, generating healing throughout the planet.

Raymundo Tigre Perez dedicated his life to teach the essence and importance of the spirituality of Native America and was a unifier between the original nations and Metis nations. He fought passionately for the rights of native people and Latin American inmigrants in the United States of America.

A Sacred Place for Prayers from Many Cultures

The KIVA today

Raymundo Tigre Pérez traveled to Mexico again in 1982 delivering temazcalli fires and seeking to open the way for future Kivas. Thus, in 1989, the first Kiva ceremony was held with the presence of 50 elders of tradition in Jalisco, Mexico in the community of Teopolli Kalpulli. It was guided by the medicine man Raymundo Tigre Pérez.

In the year 1995, shortly before his death, he was recognized in the council of elders by the native tribes of the North America as a Holy Man, which is the highest degree granted in the way of medicine man. Heriberto Villaseñor and his family, who received the mission to continue with the ceremony of the Kiva, work begun in 1989, and became guardians under the name of Roots of the Earth.

After 20 years in Mexico the fire traveled to Chile in 2009, thus fulfilling the prophecy of the eagle and the condor, with the union of the North and South of the American Continent. Years later it came to Austria in 2012 and to Colombia from 2012 to 2015, the year in which the United Nations of the Spirit was consolidated. Later it arrived to Holland and Peru in 2016.

In February 2019 the fire of the Kiva will travel to India to join the pilgrimage of the Kumbha Mela and the elders will travel from the West to the East for the unification of the original peoples of the world, in a single prayer for protection of the Holy Rivers, thus the prophecy delivered by Mother Earth to Raymundo Tigre Perez will be fulfilled.
